1. What is a typical English breakfast ?

A typical English breakfast is composed from :

-baked beans, sausages, bacon, eggs, cooked mushrooms, tomatoes and fried bread with butter or jam .

With this breakfast, the British drink a cup of tea or black coffee .

Not many people will eat this for the breakfast , but they eat a bowl of cereals or toast with jam and marmalade and orange juice .

Children will eat a bowl of cereals.                                                      (Natacha and Marina)

2. Lunch :

It is between 12.00 and 1.30 pm.

For lunch, English pupils eat at the school canteen or have a packed lunch. It is composed of sandwiches, fruits, a packet of crips and a drink, usually, they have chips or hamburgers.

3. High Tea or Dinner :

It is between 6.30 and 8.00 pm.

The High Tea or dinner, is composed of one or two vegetables ( one is often potatoes ) and meat, eggs or fishes.

The favourite vegetables of English peoples are potatoes, carrots, peas, cabbages and onions.

Now, rice, pasta, curry, and spices replace potatoes.

5. Typical British desserts.

There are a lot of typical british desserts.

There are for exemple crumbles jelly trifle, pudding, spotted dick, cakes, poly-poly…

For we, the desserts are strange.

6. Conclusion : Differences and opinions.

The British people don’t have the same dishes as in France. For exemple a typical British breakfast ( between 7:00 and 9:00 ) is composed of eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, mushrooms, and baked beans whereas in France, we have only cereals, toasts, milk and chocolate in general.

Personnally I prefer typical French breakfasts because in the morning, I don’t eat a lot of food.

The typicals British sunday lunch ( between12:00 and 1:30 ) is composed of roast lamb, chicken and bacon, yorkshire pudding, fish and chips, toad-in-the-hole, roast beef … I don’t like the British traditional Sunday lunch. I think they are strange, I prefer French lunches.

The typical British dinners ( sometimes called supper, between 6:30 and 8:00 ) are composed of carrots, Brussel sprouts and roast potatoes. A lot of people in Britain eat Curry.
